Play Ball, Bears!
It’s time to play ball at Blessed Sacrament! The junior girls and boys 3-Pitch Teams will be starting practices this week. We are grateful for new ball equipment graciously funded by the Catholic Community Foundation of Waterloo Region. Thank you to all those who support this wonderful charity. We have new catcher’s equipment, equipment bags, balls, bats and some gloves. More gloves would be appreciated, so feel free to donate any gloves you may have at home that we could use for the season. Go, Bears!

Spring Family Fun Night Thank You/Feedback Survey
Dear Families,
We want to sincerely thank all the students and families for making this fundraiser such a big success!!!!!!!! It started with your generous donations to make over 35 spectacular raffle baskets that the students went bonkers for!!!! The students then did an amazing job raising pledges for the Sport-a-thon. We would like to say thank you to our amazing teaching staff for organising and running the Sports-a-thon last Friday!!!
It was amazing seeing families and the community come together to support the school at the Family Fun Night. Thank you to Pierogi Pig, El Milagro, Funnel Cloud and Born2eat for providing our food for the night and their generous donation to support our school. Thank you to Mr. Puffs for donating some delicious treats. Also, to Prep Academy Tutors for sponsoring Five the Magician from Big Smiles Company and his amazing show!
Through your donations and fundraising we were able to offer memorable events but also support our school in getting closer to our goal of a playground. We were able to surpass our goal and raise $8,500!!!!! Students this means you have earned your extra incentive and will be voting on your choice of reward soon!!! Also, the top 3 fundraising students will be getting lunch with Mr. Rose and 3 classes have earned a pizza party!
We would love to hear from families about their thoughts on the fundraiser. Please click on this link to complete the Spring Family Fun Night Feedback Form.
None of this would have been possible without your generosity. Thank you again for your support, we look forward to continued support and fun activities for the students in the coming school year.
Sincerely,
CSAC team

Youth Impact Survey
The Youth Impact Survey (YIS) is Waterloo Region’s best tool to hear directly from a diverse cross-section of young people across the community about their own well-being. It’s based on the Canadian Index of Child and Youth Well-being, a framework UNICEF Canada developed to better understand how children and youth are doing across the country.
The Children and Youth Planning Table of Waterloo Region runs the survey. We’re a community collaborative working together to improve child and youth well-being across our community.
Data from YIS results helps us as a community to understand the state of well-being of young people living in Waterloo Region. It also helps organizations to have deeper, more focused conversations with young people, so we can better understand their lived experience and the issues they face in their everyday lives.
For the Youth Impact Survey to be successful, we need 3000 responses from young people aged 9 – 18 from Waterloo Region. We especially encourage children and youth with marginalized identities to complete the survey.
The survey is available in English and French, and consent forms are available in six languages: English, French, Arabic, Farsi, Spanish, Tigrigna, and Urdu.
Youth who participate will receive volunteer hours and have the chance to win prizes, including a round trip flight for two with Flair Airlines.
