We wish to welcome you to the 2019/20 school year! Staff will be busy this weekend setting up and getting ready for another school year.
Our office is currently in the process of being set up and will be operation on Tuesday! Our regular office hours will commence on Tuesday, being 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. Please note, the office will be closed during lunch from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm.
There has been much activity in our building this summer, which we are sure you noticed with the amount of trucks parked in front of the school all summer long.
The school will be ready to receive students on the first day of school. However, the renovations are not fully completed yet. There is still work to be completed; which will happen during evening hours, weekends and the PA Day. The school passed inspection and the children will be safe. As a result, we are waiting to host our annual Open House/Meet the Staff Night. More information and a date will come in the following weeks. One of the items not installed yet are our brand new basketball nets (both inside and outside), therefore we ask students to not bring basketballs to school until further notice as we do not have an area for them to play at the current time. We thank you for your patience and understanding during this process.
Our day will begin on Tuesday at the regular time. There will be supervision on the yard at 8:15 and the bell will ring at 8:30. All staff will be out on the yard with signs indicting who they are and where the students are to line up. Parents will be allowed on the back yard for this morning only. We kindly ask you hug and kiss your children goodbye and help to build their independence by escorting them to the line; but then allow the staff to take over and bring them into the school.
Parking in the parking lot is for staff only. We do not have enough parking for all of our staff as is. There is ample parking on the road if you need to escort your child to the school yard. We continue to have our drop off are at the back. One car at a time is to follow the circle, the pylons will be your guide. Do not get out of your car to let your children out and do not drop them off on the side of the garbage bin, as this has proven to be dangerous. Please let the children out at the gated area of the school yard. There will be staff available before the bell to support this. The front of the school continues to be a drop off zone for busses only. There is ample parking on the streets around the school. Please help us be a good neighbour and do not block driveways. Please inform any caregivers who may drop off your children of this information.
We will send out a September Newsletter some time next week!
Thank you and we look forward to another great year!
