World Down Syndrome Day, is a global awareness day that has been officially observed by the United Nations since 2012. In support, our school community will be wearing colourful, eye catching socks for the “Lots of Socks Campaign (https://www.worlddownsyndromeday.org/lots-of-socks-campaign).
Our socks get the conversation started. When people ask you about your socks you can tell them, “I’m wearing them to raise awareness for Down syndrome and to End the Stereotypes.”
This an opportunity to start the conversation at home and encourage your child to rock their socks this Thursday wearing, colourful, mismatched, stand out socks!
