World Down Syndrome Day – March 21st
Good morning, Blessed Sacrament families:
Thursday, March 21, 2024, is World Down Syndrome Day. See the https://www.worlddownsyndromeday.org/ for more information and details and to learn more about this year’s theme: “End the Stereotypes”.
World Down Syndrome Day, is a global awareness day that has been officially observed by the United Nations since 2012. In support, our school community will be wearing colourful, eye catching socks for the “Lots of Socks Campaign (https://www.worlddownsyndromeday.org/lots-of-socks-campaign).
Our socks get the conversation started. When people ask you about your socks you can tell them, “I’m wearing them to raise awareness for Down syndrome and to End the Stereotypes.”
This an opportunity to start the conversation at home and encourage your child to rock their socks this Thursday wearing, colourful, mismatched, stand out socks!
Thanks for joining in support of World Down Syndrome Day!
